The Copyright Dance

One of the areas where the church is often much too lax is in our use (or misuse) of copyright. Writers, musicians, film makers and other visual and aural artists create works which provide them with much, if not all of their income. Using some misguided sense that all works created by Christians should be able to be used by any Christian, we happily rip them off. CCLI and other licensing agencies exist to help the artists and to help us use created works with integrity.

For a little fun on this issue visit Phil Baker.

A television editor, writer & director since 1978. A Christian since 1982. More than a little frustrated with the Church in the West since late in the last millennium.
