NAB2005 ends today with many people’s wallets lighter – and not just from the gaming tables and machines in the city of Lost Wages. Every year I’ve been at the show, I’ve been captivated by one or two products and have ordered them – or purchased them on the show floor and brought them home. From Ampex ADO’s (the year NAB was in Dallas) to Steadicam JRs and enumerable tape machines. One of my favourite purchases in the last couple of years was the Proprompter – a great little teleprompter that uses a Pocket PC as the source.

JVCs HDV products and Apple’s Final Cut Studio are the show winners for me.
