Buried in the shock and awe around the Mactel announcement were Steve Jobs comments on iTunes and Podcasting.
"We see it as the hottest thing going in radio – hotter than anything else in radio."
iTunes in its next release will include a built in iPodder – making it dramatically easier to have your favourite Podcasts downloaded into iTunes and then synced with your iPod. I’m listening to Adam Curry discuss this on today’s Daily Source Code podcast as I type this. I used iPodderX to automatically download DSC – and then I have it set to load into iTunes. It works, but it’s not as elegant as having it all done inside iTunes.
Podcasting is getting more and more interesting. I’m designing my first show this week and hope to have it recorded and up for early next week. I’ll keep you updated.
Check out iPodder.org for some of the 8,000 available podcasts.
