Microsoft Windows Vista

Vista was a great name for Ampex’s good little switcher in the ’80s. Perhaps that makes it appropriate for Longhorn. But it really sounds like the name of a new vehicle coming from Oldsmobile. ("Ladies and Gentlemen, Resurrection Motors presents the new 1980 Olds Vista. Check out the beautiful opera windows and Naugahyde roof.") Hard to believe that Microsoft would come up with a name worse than Longhorn – although Longtooth might have been more appropriate – and more accurate.
