Calvin, Hobbes & Bill

CalvinAs I managed to duck out of Toronto early Tuesday morning, before the family was up and could celebrate my turning 50, I arrived home last night to a present. It beckoned me from the coffee table. I waited for the kids to arrive. Then frustrated them as I pretended not to notice the beautifully wrapped box. It finally got to me – and I grabbed the package. It was very heavy. I ripped the wrapping off. And inside, the “The Complete Calvin and Hobbes” box set. Just about the best present my children could have given this 50 year old kid.

I confess that Calvin often expresses my own thoughts. As in this panel, shamelessly stolen from the uComics website. I’m off to read some more from the box set. Until tomorrow.
