(CPP- Winnipeg – Saturday, January 21, 2006) Perhaps influenced by his “friend”, Bono, Paul Martin is attempting a new career – guitar player and band leader. His first public music performance was in the dying days of the Election Campaign. Rumors have it that Martin hoped that he could launch his new career in the same town that has brought the world Neil Young, the Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overweightdrive and the amazing guitarist, Lenny Breau – Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Martin’s odd, pickless, guitar playing style – similar to that used by Kumbayah-playing, campfire gatherers, was not necessarily the biggest hit of the night. However, the local Liberals did join Martin in the Liberal Campaign’s theme song – The Wheels On the Bus Are Falling Off – although not as enthusiastically as Martin may have hoped.
Martin was heard to ask one of his aids whether Daniel Lanois could be contacted. The soon to be former Prime Minister felt he’d have significant time to meet with Lanois after Monday, January 23rd. (Story Developing)
