I Hate This Coming Sunday

Twelve years ago, Imbi and I with a large team of people were preparing to shoot a multi-camera video for Maranatha! Music on this particular weekend. The shoot was in Pittsburgh, PA. The equipment was coming from Toronto, ON. The normally friendly border at Fort Erie decided to be “letter of the law” folk that day. (Which is their prerogative and I am making no value judgments here.) The equipment that was supposed to arrive at noon – showed up at 8pm.

We did setup until two in the morning. And had to be back at 6am. The problem was that this was the weekend that the clocks went forward an hour. Were we tired!

I Think Clock-1I’ve never forgiven Ben Franklin, William Willett and the Germans for DST.

That being said, don’t forget the clocks GO FORWARD this weekend. (Remember the mnemonic – Spring Forward, Fall Back.)

And if you need a clock, might I recommend

    I’m with ya on this one. My wife loves this coming Sunday because it signals the beginning of Spring to her. For me, it just signals losing an hour of sleep.

    It also affects my early-morning basketball. For some reason, guys don’t want to show up at 5:45 AM after we spring forward.
