While My Ukulele Gently Weeps

One of the best Beatles tunes wasn’t written by Lennon & McCartney, but rather by George Harrison. And I think he would have been knocked out by this version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps…on a ukulele. Jake Shimabukuro is amazing![via: Brad Boydson]

  1. wow! that really made my morning. thank you!

not only are the Beatles my favorite group, as a guitar player that song has always had particular sweetness to me. the way this guy played that was just great.

did you see the video where the kid plays a guitar along with Pachelbels’ canon in D?

  2. Great link, Mark. Of course, I then had to go searching Google Video for one of my all time favorite guitarists, Jeff Beck. Check this out!

  3. Great link! Jeff has such amazing tone, and something most popular guitar players don’t have.. restriant. He puts notes exactly where they need to be. I need to catch up on more of his stuff. One of my other #1 faves is Larry Carlton. From Alone / But Never Alone to Fingerprints, he has such a distinctive voice.
