African Travel Plans

One of the problems with growing up in the sixties is that certain folk tunes want to play in your head at particular times. The dulcet sounds of Peter, Paul and Mary singing “Leaving On a Jet Plane” (which I think John Denver wrote) are ringing in my ears as Imbi and I prepare to leave North America for a month.

Tonight we grab a BA flight to London and head south to Guildford for a few restful days with friends. Next Wednesday morning we catch a BA day flight to Nairobi. After a long weekend (Friday to Sunday) visiting with good friends, we begin guest lecturing at Daystar University the following Monday.

Imbi and I both love Kenya and really are excited about returning after three years – we were last there in January of 2003. The kids wanted to join us as they accompanied us in 2002 and are also Kenya lovers. But school and work (as well as funding) prevented their return – this time, anyway.

Blogging will slow down while I’m in Kenya – but I’ll still be posting as regularly as Kenyan net access allows.
