Boise Interview & Conversation Recording Setup

Although, while in Boise, I was mostly involved in future planning meetings, I did have the pleasure of recording both an interview and conversations while there.

Here is a shot of the setup in the house where we were meeting and staying. The windows provided an almost perfect natural light source. The interviews will be up on the Allelon site (and on YouTube) in the New Year. (I interviewed Pat Keifert and recorded conversations between Alan Roxburgh and Pat, and Al and Craig Van Gelder – pictured in the bottom shot with Al’s expressive hands, frame right.)

I’m using 2 Sony HVR-Z1U HDV cameras. The foreground camera has the Sennheiser Wireless Mic receiver and a Sony hard wired lavalier mic attached to it. I’m monitoring audio using Sony Noise-Canceling Headsets (The Sony shotgun mic attached, is unplugged.) The camera to the left of frame is recording audio through the on-board mic – as guide audio only. This is a one-man-band setup. Not a perfect way to record – but the results should look good.

The pictures were taken with my 2Gb media player / 2MP camera / mobile internet device / EDGE modem / cell phone – the Sony Ericsson W810i.

AND: Stay tuned for achievable media, coming in December – where Bill’s focus on media & technology will find it’s new home.
