Ed B on Innovative Business Ideas for Church

Ed Brenegar is doing a series at his Presbyterian Polis blog on Innovative Business Ideas for Church,

What you will find in the series are my reflections on books and ideas that have been influential in the business world that I find have relevance to churches. My focus here is on what church leaders can do to better lead their congregations. I take a cue from Peter Drucker who said, “Leaders lead people, not organizations.”

Ed is a leadership consultant and an ordained minister. He’s also a prolific writer (who gets up much too early in the mornings.)

Although I am often frustrated by church leadership who look primarily to the business world for effective leadership models, this is a very good series from Ed with lots of thought provoking ideas.

  1. Bill,
The problem with the church using business models is that they use the wrong or out-dated ones in a many that even business people will tell you are inappropriate.
Thanks for you affirmation. I’m hoping it will stimulate some healthy dialogue and realistic thought.
