Strombo & Alister McGrath

I’ve linked to one or two other videos from CBC’s The Hour hosted by George Stromboulopoulus. (Wasn’t his name originally George Smith?) Strombo interviewed Alister McGrath when he was in town for the Wycliffe event, Refresh, this week.

Here’s the link to the iTunes video. I’m downloading it as I type this – so I can’t comment on Strombo’s treatment of McGrath. He gives High Priest of Atheism, Richard Dawkins 50% more time here. (Note Dawkins will soon be known as “I Am Not A Fundamentalist” Richard Dawkins.)

We shot two events with McGrath which will be made available as DVDs from Wycliffe later this summer. I’ll keep you updated. Clips will be made available on YouTube.

UPDATE: I watched the video of Strombo and McGrath later in the evening. I felt McGrath was not as strong as he had been in the two lectures plus Q&A’s he’d done. He seemed comfortable with Strombo, but came across as much more of a lightweight than is the reality. I would really like to see Strombo’s entire interview – rather than the CBC edited version. Perhaps this is a better indication of McGrath’s very fine brain.

One response to Strombo & Alister McGrath

  1. Agree with your comments. I just watched the video podcast as well at is was certainly a surface level, pleasant conversation – no really interesting debate – which does make far better tv!
