Another post from March of 05. (We lived in another city then.)
From meandering blogdom to wandering around our 2nd floor library – I picked this book up again. A great book on creatives not getting sucked into the giant hairball of conformity, rules, regulations & the politics of standard corporate life. Originally given to me by a friend who led the Canadian division of a major multi-national (back in ’99 and who leads another one, today), this still resonates. There is lots of whimsy in this book, but much serious thought as well.
"Being infinite, the whole of reality is too much for the conscious human mind to grasp. The best any one of us can do is to take the biggest slice of Infinite Reality that we can hold – intellectually, spiritually and emotionally – and make that slice our personal sense of what is real. But no matter how broad it is, any human perception of reality can be no more than a tiny sliver of Infinite Reality." – Gordon MacKenzie, pg 45.
