No Internet Joy

We returned home last evening from taking Liam to university in Nova Scotia. I was excited to begin setting up my office. That excitement turned to disappointment as I was informed by Rylan that Rogers (who had installed our cable, phone and internet access) were unable to get the internet working – though they promised it would all be sorted out by noon today "at the latest". That was a little "inaccurate." It seems that the number they gave us for our home phone had already been assigned to someone else. Until they can give us a new number, the phone and internet won’t work. We are apparently way down the line in terms of their mistakes that need fixing – so they’ll get to it as soon as they can. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I wish we’d gone with Bell’s Sympatico service.

Right now I’m "borrowing" someone’s WiFi that is floating around the loft. If I knew who they were, I’d ask their permission.

It is great to be back in the space that we left three years ago. However, there is much work to be done here along with my regular gig. Time for me to get back to it.

UPDATE: The phone works (though I had to call Rylan’s phone to have him tell me the number) and "Lord have mercy", we are now back on the Interweb.

  1. I have yet to hear of a Rogers Home Phone order set up right the first time!

  2. Yep. Took 36 hours to get our phone working. I was seriously 5 minutes from calling customer service again when I heard the phone ring. Lucky for them, but I’m sure they don’t care.
