For those really troubling scriptural passages:

A television editor, writer & director since 1978. A Christian since 1982. More than a little frustrated with the Church in the West since late in the last millennium.

  1. You know… your posts are always sarcastic and pithy. And, that is not good.

    But, yet I come… like a moth to a Canadian flame. ;-)

  2. There’s a fine line, Bill, between eisegesis to get around what makes us uncomfortable and a genuine effort to understand what seems absurd otherwise. If you feel that one doesn’t need this delicate balance, then you may as well put George MacDonald, C.S. Lewis, Clark Pinnock and many others as “distributors” on the label of your “get the hell out” spray.

  3. does it work on ‘discernment’ blogs also?

  4. I’m afraid there’s no spray that will ever get “hell” out of those blogs because that’s the only thing they ever talk about.

  5. Since Scott Bailey shares at least your sarcastic approach, maybe you’d consider his critique of the “oldish” way of looking at hell:

  6. Ah Bill,
These folks think you are sarcastic. More reasons to keep my mouth shut.

  7. TSK. Are you suggesting I've joined the exalted ranks of discernment blogdom. :-)

Things must be looking up around here.

  8. Sarcasm helps to keep us warm in the Great White North. That's important this time of year. :-)

  9. Love it Bill….. can you send me a bottle….. are you selling it on E-bay yet… can i put it on my Christmas list….
    blessings dude… it’s been a while – i’ve been off radar a bit.

  10. It's been too long. Great to hear from you. Glad you liked my Photoshop and Illustrator fun.

  11. Thanks, Cat. Glad you are back on the radar now. :-)

  12. The beauty of this product is that it can be used on a variety of messes … perhaps it could even be seen as doing double-duty ;) by those who are offended.

What do you think?
